4600 Block of Lakelse Revitalization
The 4600 Block of Lakelse Revitalization Project began as a vision championed by the Terrace Downtown Improvement Area (TDIA) to create a more vibrant, pedestrian-friendly downtown block.
That vision was later adopted by the City of Terrace and has moved forward as a City-led capital project, with TDIA continuing as a community partner.
How TDIA Helped Shape the Vision
Our Story
TDIA helped initiate the early concept for revitalizing the 4600 block of Lakelse Avenue by bringing forward ideas for a more welcoming, walkable, and economically vibrant downtown space.
Through early planning, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with partners, TDIA helped build momentum for what is now a major City of Terrace infrastructure and streetscape project.

Project Overview
The revitalization project is focused on transforming the 4600 block of Lakelse Avenue into a more attractive and functional downtown space for businesses, residents, and visitors.
Planned improvements include underground utility work, road reconstruction, and surface-level enhancements that support a more pedestrian-friendly streetscape.
Current Status
The City of Terrace has identified the 4600 Block of Lakelse Revitalization as a 2026 capital project.
Construction is expected to take place from March 2026 to September 2026, with the City providing project updates related to construction timing, access, parking, and public information.

The revitalization effort reflects years of collaboration between TDIA, the City of Terrace, consultants, local businesses, property owners, and downtown stakeholders. Early work included concept planning, public engagement, and visioning for a downtown block that could better support local business, public use, and long-term revitalization.
